Bowen Therapy

I was constantly approached by Emmett Practitioners who wanted to know about my use of Bowen Therapy, and also where they could learn it. I have always said that Bowen Therapy is a good therapy to use in combination with the Emmett technique and other therapies.

We previously advised therapists to attend any Bowen Therapy course to learn the technique. They often returned to tell us they were told they could not use Bowen Therapy with the Emmett Technique or any other therapy.
I was also surprised when I ran seminars on the integration of Emmett with Bowen, how many differences there were within each Bowen modality. This made things difficult for the therapists because they were supposed to have all come from the same root base.

To help with a better understanding I have put out this simple version of Bowen therapy as I was first taught in 1988, and from my knowledge as a Bowen instructor of practitioners for many years.

TBT101 is my offering of how I have come to believe and understand how Bowen therapy works. This course was put together to give practitioners the confidence to mix and match with other therapies using understanding and a good working knowledge of Bowen therapy.

It has been said publicly by two of the men who worked with Tom Bowen and one of his children that I work like Tom. This was said even when I was not doing Tom's work. I believe these comments

support me in my wanting to share this understanding with you. This is the intention of my teaching of TBT101. If you have learnt a version of Bowen Therapy before and find differences from your previous teachings, consider yourself lucky to have two opinions. This will allow you more chances to assist your clients.
I would like to add that many of the procedures around today are not what were taught to me yesterday.
